Learn how to turn plastic Easter eggs into flowers and make them into a pretty DIY spring wreath.

Today I’m sharing a fun and easy spring craft idea that you can make in one afternoon. You only need a few supplies. Grab some plastic Easter eggs and let’s turn them into a flower wreath!

Materials Needed

I got my eggs and ribbon at Hobby Lobby. I love this pretty pastel color combination! But you can get plastic eggs pretty much anywhere that sells holiday items and they come in so many different colorways that you can easily customize this idea to fit your style.

I used a 12 inch wire wreath form because it’s what I had on hand, but I think a wider, flatter wreath form would be easier to glue to. But no biggie… use what ya got!

Instructions

Step 1: Begin by gluing five eggs together with the smaller, pointier ends in. I added a dab of hot glue to the side of one egg, then pressed the second egg to it and held it in place until it was really stuck down. If you hurry through this part too much, your eggs will come apart as you add the next one, so be patient. To add the last egg to the circle, I added hot glue to the sides of both the eggs it would touch, then slid it in to complete the circle.

Step 2: Glue a yellow egg to the center of the flower you just created. It can go pointy or round side up… both ways look cute. I set the yellow egg in place, then noted where it touched the other eggs and added a ring of glue to the yellow egg, then placed it back down. You want to put the glue where the eggs actually touch so they’ll stay stuck together.

Step 3: Arrange all of your eggs onto the wreath form. Tack them in place and wait for the glue to dry completely, then flip it over and add more hot glue everywhere the eggs touch the wreath form.

Step 4: Add a bow or ribbon of your choice to finish it off. I recommend wire ribbon so you can shape the final bow and make it lay just right.

Then your spring Easter egg flower wreath is complete!

I made six flowers for my 12 inch wreath form. Each finished flower is about 5 inches across. You can use any kind of egg for this craft… large or small, foam eggs, glitter eggs, anything goes! And you can use any size wreath form too. I love the idea of making a really big wreath so you could make more egg flowers. Hopefully my measurements will help you guess how many eggs you’ll need for whichever wreath form you decide to go with.
